BAROQUE

Well to the foreground is the oeuvre of the great composers of this period: J.S. Bach, George Frederic Handel, Georg Philipp Telemann, Alessandro Scarlatti, Alessandro Stradella, Antonio Vivaldi. CLASSICAL

The exploration of the musical pathways that led from the baroque into the classical era, thereby leading to the major symphonic works of Haydn, Mozarta and Beethoven, represents another large area of research and performance for the orchestra. CONTEMPORARY

The use of historical instruments opens a diverse timbral palette which provides new possiblities for musical works of our own time.
In several well-received appearances at festivals of the West German and Hessen Broadcasting Companies (WDR and HR), La Stagione performed Karlheinz Stockhausen's complete cycle Tierkreis in a version arranged for the ensemble by Michael Schneider. In addition, music by Paul Hindemith and Frank Martin has also already been part of concert programmes.
